Wellness Trends for 2024

Wellness Travel

Forget beach clubs and all-inclusive indulgence, wellbeing travel is set to grow in popularity for 2024, with more and more people willing to invest in themselves by using their vacations to feel better. From intensive medical spa stays to yoga retreats and wellness breaks that include sound baths, cryotherapy and forest bathing, follow an expert itinerary in a beautiful location and you’ll return home feeling better than ever.

Mushroom Nootropics

The mushroom nootropics wellness trend is gaining momentum for 2024. Lion’s mane, a powerful mushroom, is recognised for its nootropic properties, benefiting mental and physical health, so it is a useful addition to your routine, whether via a supplement or a mushroom tea or coffee. It is associated with improvements in depression, anxiety, fatigue, Alzheimer’s, and longevity. Speaking of tea and coffee, caffeine is out for 2024, to be replaced with herbal, health-boosting brews.

Blood Sugar Hacking

There is now an increased awareness of the benefits of maintaining balanced glucose levels through diet and lifestyle. This trend emphasises eating low-glycemic foods, committing to regular exercise, portion control, and continuous glucose monitoring. If you get it right, you can optimise energy, mood, and overall health by stabilising blood sugar levels.

Healthy Fast Food

There is an increasing availability of high-protein snacks, food that supports gut health, and probiotic and prebiotic drinks on the market, making convenience and health synonymous at last. As we learn more and more about the negative impacts of ultra-processed foods, healthier options are becoming more readily available.

Microbiome Balancing

The microbiome balancing trend focuses on the diversity of microorganisms in the body, critical to human health. Your skin microbiome is vital to achieving a radiant, healthy glow, and your body’s is linked to immune function, brain health, and various other health conditions.

Slow Cardio

The slow cardio trend, also known as “cosy cardio,” was big in 2023 and is gaining momentum into 2024 as a low-intensity, gentle approach to exercise. It involves activities including walking, strolling on a treadmill, or low-intensity exercise classes. This trend prioritises joy in movement, mental well-being, and self-care, over high-intensity, sweaty workouts.
