From glossy cheekbones to bold lips and groomed brows, the 2024 makeup trends forecast has some really wearable looks. When you’re taking inspiration from the catwalk it’s important to remember that the bold statement styles might need paring down to make them work in the real world, so when you’re finding your perfect match think about how and where you’ll trial the trend. (Of course, for party season and NYE, a more-is-more look lifted directly from the catwalk might be perfect!) Let’s explore some of the key 2024 makeup trends from the SS24 catwalks that are expected to dominate the beauty scene next year.

2024 Makeup Trends To Nail Now

Glossy Cheekbones

High-shine complexions and glossy cheekbones are putting the glow in 2024’s makeup trends. In London, designers such as Di Petsa, and Erdem embraced the trend of glossy cheekbones, adding a radiant and luminous touch to the makeup looks. Blush is also set to make a comeback for 2024, so don’t be afraid to add some colour to your cheeks as the year ticks over, too.

Statement Lips

Bold and bright lip colours also made waves on the SS24 catwalks. From rich ‘witchy’ berry lips at Dior to the bright matte lips and Saint Laurent, choose your colour and create your perfect pout to be on-trend for 2024. Or you could go wild and opt for blue lips as seen at Vivienne Westwood.

Groomed Brows and Minimal Makeup

As we look forward to spring, minimal makeup, skin-first makeup looks (my favourite!) are always on the agenda. The focus on brushed-up brows, barely-there bases, and hints of taupe was seen at Stella McCartney’s show. This trend reflects a move towards a polished and understated makeup look, emphasising natural beauty and effortless elegance. Wear with loose, centre-parted hair for a too-cool-to-care model finish.

90s-Inspired Soft Grunge

The revival of ’90s-inspired soft grunge made its mark on the SS24 catwalks, with a focus on smudged eyeliner, natural brows, and nude lips. Designers such as Dior, Max Mara, and Givenchy opted for this ‘soft-goth’ grunge aesthetic, set to be a 2024 makeup trend.
