Sneakers Style: Coolest Trainers for Winter

One of my favourite fashion trends is the athleisure movement that has gone from strength to strength over the last few years. Whether it’s cashmere joggers in the boardroom or chic sneakers on the front row at fashion week, sportswear has never been cooler. But what are the trainers to shop this season?

In my job I tend to be on my feet most of the time, whether I’m creating a look for one of my clients or running around town between shows and meetings. So, I tend to spend a lot of my life in trainers, as comfort is key! Luckily for me, sneakers are on-trend outside of the gym and the running track for AW19, so there are plenty of gorgeous options to shop right now, many of which look great worn with anything, from sportswear to suits. You can also make a serious style statement with your sneakers, with brands from Gucci and Stella McCartney to Balenciaga and McQueen going big on trainers this fall. Ready to upgrade your footwear game for the new season?

Nike Air Max 270 React

As well as trainers that look great worn off-duty, I love seriously comfy sneakers for the gym, dance and whatever other exercise I’m doing. These Nike Air Max 270 Reacts are super versatile and they look great with everything.

Veja V-10 Trainers

Made with ecological and sustainable materials, including recycled plastic bottles (typically three per pair) not only are Veja trainers one of the most eco-friendly sneaker brands (with a full vegan-friendly collection), they’re the fashion pack’s choice of the moment, too, with chic simple styles to choose from.

Alexander McQueen Runway Leather Platform Trainers

As streetwear goes, it doesn’t come chicer than McQueen’s platform runway trainers, with a fun metallic silver sole for an injection of fun – perfect for party season.

Reebok Aztrek 96 Adventure suede, leather and mesh sneakers

Black tends to be my go-to colour, and I love these adventure sneakers by Reebok. They’re tough and supportive for hiking (a must when I’m in LA or on location somewhere gorgeous) but also chic and on-trend with their combat styling.

Adidas Originals Yung-1 leather, suede and mesh sneakers

If you want a statement sneaker this season, opt for a chunky retro (and super comfy) Adidas Originals style. This design comes in primary red and blue plus neon, cream and orange colour options.

Gucci Rhyton Glitter Logo Sneakers

With a statement rainbow glitter logo and blue floral lining, these Gucci sneakers are one of the prettiest pairs of trainers of the season. You might have to save up to buy them, but they’re comfy enough for long walks, so you can ditch the Uber and walk to your next meeting.

APL Women’s Techloom Wave Soft Pink

Athletic Propulsion Labs sneakers have been scientifically designed to enhance performance with a ‘techloom’ upper that moves with your feet. Not only do they look great, they’ll help you up your sports performance with their dynamic design, and if you opt for this pink colourway, APL will donate 20% of the sale price to the Women’s Cancer Research Fund.

Carvela Lassitude Platform Sneakers

If you’re taking a fashion-first approach to your footwear this season, these chunky monochrome platform sneakers by Carvela tick all the boxes.

Reebok Classic Club C 85

Reebok classics are not only one of the comfiest trainers ever made, they’ve been a stylish choice for both men and women for more than three decades now. No sneakers collection is complete without a pair.
