Preparing your skin for every season is a must and particularly essential for when cold weather hits. Follow my tips for ensuring you feed and protect your skin in the right way.

Here are 5 ways you can try to get your complexion cold weather-ready…

Regular Exfoliation
Exfoliate regularly to remove dead skin cells that build up in summer – I like to use an enzyme exfoliator, like this amazing one from facialist Tracie Martin.

Cream Cleanser
Avoid foaming cleansers in colder weather, which strip the skin of its natural oils. I like the hot cloth cleanser from Liz Earle, which leaves skin plump and completely clean.

Rich Moisturiser
Moisturiser is super important in winter – skin can become dehydrated due to extreme weather and indoor heating; Crème de la Mer is my all-time favourite. You might think this would be too heavy, but it’s perfect in the colder months.

Night Oil
In winter I make sure my skincare is working while I sleep – using a night oil like this one from This Works helps restore radiance during the night. Feed the skin while it sleeps.

New Season Facial
I also always see a great facialist to help rebalance my stressed skin before winter arrives: Debbie Thomas and Sarah Chapman in London and Tracey Martin and Isabelle Belle in New York – are all known as some of the best in the business.
