My Favourites: Best Moisturisers

One of the questions I get asked most by readers and the people I work with is ‘what are the best moisturisers?’ Well, here’s the answer…

All good makeup begins with great skin, and making sure your complexion is well-hydrated is a great place to start. I’m always being asked what the best moisturisers are, so I thought I’d put them all in one place for you, so you can find the right option for you, whatever your skin type or budget. I’d love you to share your favourites with me on my YouTube channel or Facebook page, too!

The Best Moisturisers for All Skin Types

The Lightweight Hero

Lancer The Method, £105

Rich is avocado oil, this silky moisturiser feels lightweight but gives a good hit of moisture. I also love a sheet mask for an instant pick-me-up (see my round-up of the best ones, here).

The Everyday Firming Crème

Dr Nigma Talib Crème No 1, £120

Enriched with jellyfish collagen, active plant extracts and stem cells and hyaluronic acid, this firming, brightening everyday cream is one of my favourites, and is seriously potent.

Best for Damaged Skin

Omorovicza Blue Diamond Super Cream, £275

The perfect choice for stressed or damaged skin, this rich, creamy moisturiser gives skin a serious hit of essential amino acids to stimulate collagen and elastin production. It also super-charges the flow of oxygen between skin cells to give your skin a complete reboost. Don’t forget to supplement your super-charged skincare regime with a healthy diet, too, though.

Coming Soon

Augustinus Bader The Cream

I’m lucky enough to get my hands on the most exciting new products before anyone else, and the soon-to-launch Augustinus Bader skincare range is definitely one to look out for this year. ‘The Cream’ has already found a place in my best moisturisers list, so stay tuned for more news on the launch.

Best for Day

Sarah Chapman Dramatic Defence, £49

Not only is this a great all-round moisturiser, it’s also great for protection, with SPF 15 and omega-rich oils to help prevent premature ageing. I’d recommend this for daily use.

The Big Budget Option

La Mer’s Moisturizing Soft Lotion, £185

I love La Mer’s Moisturizing Soft Lotion. It’s a lighter, smoother version of their original cult moisturising cream, and feels super luxe, smoothing onto skin with ease and instantly improving texture. Add a little to your usual foundation for a dewy finish.

Best for On-the-Go

Glossier Priming Moisturiser, £18

My gym-bag essential is the Priming Moisturiser from Glossier. It’s creamy and hydrating but also really lightweight so you don’t need to worry about giving skin time to absorb before applying makeup if you’re on the move.

The Everyday Essential

Decleor Hydra Floral Anti-Pollution Hydrating Fluid SPF30, £44.50

I really love Decleor’s hydrating fluid for everyday wear. It gives skin SPF30 protection, making it a great day time option, while the ant-pollution properties mean it’s a good choice for city life. One of the best moisturisers for all skin types.

The Night Cream

Aurelia Cell Revitalise Night Moisturiser, £58

Always go for a richer option over night to give your complexion a real hydration hit and help your skin to repair. I love Aurelia’s Cell Revitalise Night Moisturiser. Layer it over an oil if you want a double dose of moisture.
