The ultimate Burberry Girl

On Monday Kensington Gardens came to life for the Burberry SS16 womenswear show, titled ‘Functionregalia’.

Christopher Bailey changed up his style direction from the bohemian looks of last season, to the military-inspire themes and modern lace elements of the SS16 collection. For the makeup we wanted our Burberry girl to to be honest in attitude and the way she wears her makeup. The skin had a satin feel with a slight glow; working with the art of shadow and highlight, we incorporated the new Face Contour Pen which I’ve been using for years on the runway, and is available to the public to buy for the first time now.

We enhanced the natural shadows on the eyelid, the cheekbone and the jaw line, then used the Sheer Concealer to highlight and knock out unwanted discolouration and blemishes. We then lightly filled in the brows with the Effortless Eyebrow Definer and created a bold – but diffused – statement lip on just some of the girls, using the rich, dense colour of the matte Oxblood lip colour: adding the lipstick is an easy way to transition the look from day to night. We finished by highlighting the cupid’s bow using the new highlighter pen – Fresh Glow To Go – and finishing nails in Optic White. The makeup has a simplicity to it, but plays up the curves of the face for a fresh take on the ultimate, effortless Burberry beauty style.

Top Tip…

To ensure the lip doesn’t look too severe, use a cotton tip to soften the outline.
