I can’t deny that I love a bold red lip for Valentine’s Day, but this year, how about tapping into the trend for all things pink? Soft pink hues make a great date-night look, or an off-duty look for a chic spring fling, too. Here, I round up some of my favourite finds to tap into the pink makeup trend this V-Day (and beyond)…

How To Wear Pink Makeup
Eyes
Lots of people avoid pinks when it comes to the eyes, but a warm, soft pink makeup look can be nicely complemented with a subtle hint of colour on the eyelids. You can use the same colour as your blush and double up with cheeks or lids, or even opt for a bold sweep of hot pink, if you’re looking for a statement style.

Face
For the skin, it’s all about a warming flush of pink blush for the cheeks. This is a really flattering, youthful look that suits almost everyone, choose a warmer, more pigmented pink for darker skin, or go for a pale apricot pink for very pale skin tones. Avoid anything shimmering or glittery if you want a natural finish and you’re wearing pink on lips or eyes. Cream colour will last longer and often doubles up as lip colour, too.

Lips
Pretty pink lipsticks are a huge part of the pink makeup trend: and the easiest way to pull off the look, too. Anything from a pale tinted balm to a hot pink matte lipstick goes: choose your hue and pucker up!
