As a makeup artist I spend a lot of my time searching for the perfect colours to suit my clients and friends. So, when I was offered the opportunity to design my very own classic reds collection, I jumped at the chance. Find out more…

Whether it’s your go-to for off-duty chic, or your ultimate all-out glamour, nothing beats a red lip for an instant impact. I’ve teamed up with exciting French ethical beauty brand La Bouche Rouge to create my very own collection of classic reds and I can’t wait to share them with you! As well as introducing the collection, I thought I’d also round-up a few of my favourite red lipsticks that I’ve relied on backstage and pre-red-carpet over the years.

For the collaboration with La Bouche Rouge I’ve created six classic red lipsticks; one for every type of girl. From a classic British red to barely-there berry, I’ve tried to find a red that will work on everyone.

I work with a lot of people who feel at their most beautiful with a bold, red lip, but equally a lot of people could never imagine themselves feeling comfortable with a statement colour. Ranging from a bold rock star red shade, inspired by pop art and the reds in Andy Warhol’s work, to an innocent blush, reminiscent of your first red, like a delicate rose or the juice of a pomegranate.

I’ve also included a passionate, vampy red, a regal, classic British royal red, a 70s American orange-red, think all-American, Pepsi Cola and roller disco, that will look amazing on dark or tanned skin, and an autumnal brown-red that is the closest to a nude in this collection, and will be great for those who often shy away from the trend.

“Plastic pollution is gradually destroying the oceans. La Bouche Rouge case is plastic free and the color refill is the first environmentally friendly refill with no PP or POM. I like the idea that buying a lipstick can become activism, the symbol of a conscience!”

All the lipsticks are manufactured in France, and because an estimated one billion lipsticks are thrown away every year, the brand has designed the first environmentally friendly refill. The case crafted from fine leather and can be personalised with hand-painted calligraphy. The case is €135, refills are €45 and hand-personalisation is €35.
