Style File: Zoë Jordan

I’m always checking out what everyone is wearing backstage and picking up style cues from models, stylists, actresses – anyone who has a cool look going on, and I’ve got a new designer crush for this season: Zoë Jordan…

I first discovered designer, Zoë Jordan, when I was doing Sienna Miller’s makeup not that long ago, and she had a gorgeous jumper on from her KNITLAB range. Obviously I needed to investigate further!

When it comes to style, I always love anything that has a bit of a sporty, boyish feel to it; these sorts of things are great to throw on in a hurry when you don’t know what to wear but you need to look good and feel comfortable at the same time. It’s super important with these sorts of easy off-duty pieces, to find things that are cut really well and have a great shape to them, and there has to be attention to detail when it comes to the fabric and finish too.

I’m always on and off planes as a Makeup Artist, and sometimes I have to head straight to work when I land, so finding the balance between comfort and style is always key. Something like a great knit and the perfect, easy pair of tailored trousers is invaluable!

London based Designer, Zoë Jordan, spent her adventurous childhood travelling around the world, immersed in the world of motor racing. She spent time living in New York, Dublin, Andalucía, Hong Kong and London (where she now has her studio) and perhaps inevitably for someone so used to the jet-set lifestyle, her range is the perfectly-curated edit to take you from “stylish traveller”, to “everyday chic” effortlessly.

Zoë’s design style focuses on clean lines, fresh palettes and boyish elegance. With an in-depth knowledge of architectural discipline and years as a fast-paced bond trader, Zoë is an unusual fashion creative with a fresh spin and objective view on what women want to wear. The Zoë Jordan girl embodies subtle sophistication with natural confidence, wit and spirit.

Top Picks

Zoë’s top picks from the SS17 collection and why…

  1. Trousers are key for the season; I love the standout Zanzi track pants – they’re neatly tailored, built with a modern knitted stripe that lends a go-anywhere edge!
  2. The Edison bomber jacket and co-ord Hitchcock trousers for that utilitarian chic athleisure look – & they’re perfect for travelling – so comfy!
  3. The classic KNITLAB cashmere styles are given a cool track and field makeover and the collection has a gorgeous palette of blush, mahogany, mercury and quicksilver!

Including must-have, versatile investments to see you through the season…

Cut outs are a key trend this season, it’s something that have been part of the collection since AW12 when we showed it in our catwalk collection at LFW. It’s been a signature feature of the brand ever since and evolves each season, allowing women to show their confidence without showing off. I travel a lot, so love pieces that suit all sorts of climates. I always like to create season-less collections and clothes that you can wear from day to night.

It’s important that my collections are easy to put together, and take me though the day, whatever role I’m playing that day!
