Maybe you’re a bit Victoria Beckham and you look great with a smokey eye and a nude lip, or perhaps your vibe is more Sienna Miller and a bold lip instantly makes you look amazing – or like me, maybe you feel best when it looks like you haven’t done much at all – the sort of paired back nude style that Anja Rubik and Christy Turlington pull off with ease…
The Modern Smokey Eye
VB x Estee Lauder eyes Eye Metals Eye Shadow – this one in Black Myrrh is great for creating an iridescent wash over the eyelid; a much more modern way to wear a smokey eye look.
Burberry Full Kisses in Nude – This is a great brown-y nude shade and suits a wide range of skin tones. It has a hint of dewiness in the texture, so it works really well to keep the look fresh and youthful.
Nars Multiple in Mauritanie is a great brown-y toned blush shade for creating a subtle, natural looking contour blush effect. Apply onto the centre of the cheekbone and blend.
Lip Liner – Charlotte Tilbury’s Iconic Nude is a great shade for creating a fuller, more perfect lip shape without anyone being able to tell what you’ve done!
VB Estee Lauder eyeliner – this double-ended eyeliner is a great multi-tasker. Use the black end to define the eye shape along the roots of the lashes and blend in. Use the nude shade in the waterline of the eye to keep it looking bright and awake.
The Bold Lip
Burberry’s new Lip Velvet is such a great product for creating a long lasting statement lip. If you like a classic red, then you can’t go wrong with Military Red, but if you want a fresh take on the statement lip, why not try Bright Plum or Oxblood for something different.
With a statement lip, a Lip Definer is important to correct any unevenness in the lip shape. Pick one that matches the shade of your lipstick or one that is a shade darker.
Dior Show Art Pen– I love this liquid eyeliner from Dior, it’s great for defining along the roots of the lashes to create the illusion of fuller lashes.
Mac Mineralize Bronzer – A bit of bronzer to cheat a golden glow works really well with a bold lip. This one from Mac has just the right amount of luminosity and is a great colour for creating a believable glow.
RMS Tempting Touch Eyeshadow – this taupe-y brown shade is great for using to subtly define the socket line of the eye to give a bit of definition without being too much.
The No-Makeup Makeup
These are all staples for any look – and if you feel and look your best a bit more understated, then just stop here!
Burberry Fresh Glow Foundation – This foundation is my all time favourite and perfect for creating skin that looks as if it’s naturally flawless.
Lip Balm – Decleor Intense Nutrition Lip Balm to really nourish and protect the lips.
Burberry Fresh Glow Radiance in Golden Radiance –use on the face, décolletage and body for glowing skin.
Burberry Contour Pen – Burberry apply along the cheekbones, down nose, in eye socket and around the mouth as the starting point for any look.
Brow Pencil – Anastasia of Beverly Hills do great brow products and I particularly love their Brow Wiz which comes in a flattering range of shades. Perfect for sketching little hairs to fill and shape the brows.
Eyelash curlers by Shu Uemura – an absolute must-have to open up the eye.
Burberry Nude Powder – apply a little powder around the nose, down the t zone and anywhere where there is unwanted shine. It’s nice to leave the cheekbones exposed for a glowing finish to the skin though.
Suqqu Mascara – a slick of mascara makes all the difference, an instant turnaround. I like this one by Suqqu because it doesn’t drop or flake and builds to create intensity quickly.
Add a spritz of your favourite fragrance to complete your look. I love these ones:
