Eye Mask: Banish Bags & Shadows

Under-eye bags and shadows are one of the key problems I’m asked about as a makeup artist. But banishing bags and brightening shadows doesn’t start with makeup, it starts with skin, and along with working on improving your skincare regime, targeted eye masks can be a real help.

When it comes to looking younger and more fresh-faced, nothing does the trick like bright eyes and a glowing complexion. And nothing comes in the way quite like puffy eye bags and dark shadows. Of course, good skincare and concealer can do a lot to help, but in recent years there are more and more eye masks on the market to tackle this problem area. I’m a huge fan of these mini sheet masks, which are the perfect on-the-go pick-me-up, especially if you travel as much as I do, and work long hours on set! So, I thought I’d bring you a little round-up of some of the best eye masks for banishing bags and dark circles so you can give them a go yourself…

Best Eye Masks for Bags & Dark Shadows

Sarah Chapman Platinum Stem Cell Eye Mask

I recently posted about this on my Instagram, it’s such an amazing boost for tired eyes. It’s a great design to target the whole eye area, from the brows and brow bone to the eyelids and crow’s feet zones and under the eyes. If you wake in the morning with puffy, tired eyes, this is a lifesaver.

KNC Beauty All-Natural Retinol-Infused Eye Mask

Infused with retinol and enriched with collagen and aloe, these shooting-star eye masks not only look cute, they will reduce dark circles and soothe and smooth skin, no matter how tired you are.

111Skin Celestial Black Diamond Eye Mask

This cult favourite eye gel mask hydrates, retextures, brighten and plumps the undereye area with retinol, vitamins and peptides to target fine lines and wrinkles.

MZ Skin Hydra-Bright Golden Eye Treatment Mask

Infused with nano gold particles to penetrate this delicate skin area, these gels are enriched with collagen, hyaluronic acid and seaweed, to instantly plump and restore moisture for brighter, more awake-looking eyes.

Patchology FlashPatch Rejuvenating Eye Gels

With a cocktail of hydrating ingredients plus vitamin C and omega3 fatty acids, these single-use flash patches are great for having to hand on trips for when you don’t get enough sleep. The pocket-money price-tag makes them a great budget eye mask option, too.

Alex Steinherr x Primark Sleep Spa Every Night Eye Mask

I love Alex Steinherr’s Primark collection, as far as high street beauty collections go, they don’t get better than this! This overnight eye mask is great for hydrating the delicate eye area.

Milk Makeup Cooling Water Undereye Patches

The ultimate morning pick-me-up, these patches are like a cup of coffee for your eyes, in fact, the patches contain caffeine to stimulate microcirculation and de-puff tired eyes. Magic!
