London comes to LA

Every year Burberry takes the iconic London brand to another city, recreating extravagant yet traditionally British events around the world.

Last year saw the all singing all dancing show in Shanghai and this year the brand bought the runway and royal Britannia to the glamorous Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles. The Griffin Observatory was transformed to replicate some of the capitals most recognisable sights. Beginning with a drive way dressed with flags to simulating The Mall and the recreation of the Regents Park Gates leading on to an English country garden. A total of 47 models, 4 artists and even the Queen’s Grenadier guards took to part in the major event. It made sense to see Naomi Campbell close the show after Jourdan Dunn as they were both the faces of the latest campaign.

The Collection reflected the recent AW15 show but with exclusive finale dresses adorned with mirrors, which shone like stars on the runway. The girl’s beauty look was adapted from that of AW15 with added warm tones to create the relaxed feel of the Californian sunshine mixed with an Oscar winning actress. To close the show Burberry used technology to show they are respectful of their heritage but with a firm foot into the future by showing grand projections across The Observatory. See here for highlights of how Burberry bought the true spirit of London to LA, and for those wondering why James Cordon joined the show take a look at this video…
